PolS121 American Government and Politics 3 hours

Introduces students to the fundamentals of American government with a focus on the federal government. Also explores local and state governance as well as the U.S. in an international context. Surveys the development of the current government system and examines basic American political principles and practices, the Constitution, major institutions, political behavior, public policy and civil liberties. Offered alternate years. A Knowledge general education course.
