Estate Planning and Planned Giving

Ila and Arlan Yoder and grandchildren

Planned Giving is the ultimate expression of a donor’s love and generosity. It is a way to leave a legacy of Christ-centered education, allowing students to take part in the Hesston Experience for generations to come. It can be a common misconception that you might not have enough assets to leave a gift through your estate, but planned giving is something that everyone is capable of. Some individuals even include charitable giving as an extra child when completing their estate plans. Through your estate you can typically offer more support to the mission of Hesston than what would be possible during your annual giving.

If you have or plan to include Hesston College in your planned giving, please let us know. Your gift will allow you to become a Legacy Partner. By letting us know your intentions it can also help make the gift easier at the time it is given and ensure that your intentions can be carried out. Thank you for creating hope for future Larks through a planned gift.

Types of Planned Giving

There are many different ways that you can make a planned gift. These options require thought before the actual gift can be made and range from very simple to more complex. To learn more about each of these options please click on the name to find out more information.

Leave a Legacy for your Passion

Planned giving is a meaningful way for you to enhance the things that you are passionate about. Hesston College has helped many Larks down their path both with their vocational and spiritual life. A specific program such as nursing, aviation, music or another department may have had a significant impact in your life. Maybe for you the most transformative part of your time on campus was the Hesston Experience. You can give specifically to the Hesston Experience Fund to help ensure that current and future students can receive that as well. Or maybe your passion lies in helping students attend Hesston by helping to fund scholarships. Whatever the case you can help where you are most passionate about!

If you are interested in learning more about or making a planned gift, please contact your development officer or Vice President of Advancement Rachel Swartzendruber Miller. We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Everence and their financial planners to work alongside you in offering enhanced charitable giving options. If you have a preferred financial planner or lawyer that you would like to work with we are happy to do that as well. Please note that the information provided is not legal or tax advice.
