Director’s Notes

I was always entertained by Pooh as a child. As an adult, I marvel at the simplicity and beauty A.A. Milne slipped into the fluffy, little mouths of those fictional creatures. Pooh’s wisdom was without ego and seemed to always capture the exact explanation of a feeling or concern.

“It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine.”
—Eeyore

“When you are a Bear of Very Little Brain, and you Think of Things, you find sometimes that a Thing which seemed very Thingish inside you is quite different when it gets out into the open and has other people looking at it.”
—Winnie the Pooh

“If people are upset because you’ve forgotten something, console them by letting them know you didn’t forget—you just weren’t remembering.”
—Winnie the Pooh

“You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
—Christopher Robin

“A hug is always the right size.”
—Winne-the Pooh

“If you live to be a hundred, I hope I live to be a hundred minus one day, so that I never have to live a day without you.”
—Winnie the Pooh

Find the wisdom, sincerity and joy wrapped in a bunch of fluff. Enjoy the show.
