Engineering Professor (mechanical or electical)

Hesston College seeks an Engineering Professor to teach courses as a faculty member in the School of Engineering. The Engineering Professor will teach engineering design courses up to and including a senior capstone sequence. Additional coursework will be assigned based on the individual strengths, preferences and the experience of the successful candidate.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Use state-of-the-art classroom teaching technologies
  • Equip and manage the design laboratory
  • Assist with engineering curriculum and program development
  • Participate in the accreditation process
  • Contribute to success of the Hesston College Robotics Team
  • Communicate effectively with students and staff
  • Maintain effective working relationships


  • Master’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering, agricultural engineering or a related discipline
  • Commitment to student-centered instruction
  • Experience teaching post-secondary engineering students
  • Experience working in the engineering discipline
  • Experience teaching in various modalities (face to face, hybrid, online, etc.)
  • Interest in or experience with robotics and automation
  • Able to work effectively as a team member and independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ph.D. preferred
