Resident Director

Do you enjoy creating relationships with young adults and implementing plans to keep them safely engaged in on-campus living? Hesston College is seeking a Female Resident Director (RD) to provide oversight for the operation of on-campus living spaces as they build relationships and guide students toward choices that will build a healthy and safe, Christ-centered and globally engaged campus community.

This person is part of the student life team and reports to the vice president of student life, collaborating with a co-RD in offering training, counsel and assistance to the student leaders reporting to them: assistant resident directors (ARDs) and community assistants (CAs). Resident Directors support the mission, vision and values of Hesston College with high levels of professionalism and are able to gain practical experience for careers in education, social work, conflict studies, psychology, ministry and much more! RDs live in on-campus apartments and serve as a responsible contact for dorming students in times of emergency, including weekend on-call duties. The RDs also serve in the community-building role of campus activities coordinators, managing student activities workers in planning and implementing weekend student events.

Our goal is to find someone who holds a bachelor’s degree or higher, values their Christian faith, is highly relational and emotionally mature and able to demonstrate responsibility and organizational skills with excellent follow-through and effective communication.

If you share our values and our enthusiasm to educate and nurture each student within Christ-centered community, integrating thought, life and faith for service to others in the church and the world, you will find a home at Hesston College. Benefits include free housing, partially subsidized meal plan and employee benefits. If this full-time, 9.5 month, benefits-eligible position sounds of interest to you, send your cover letter, application and resume to joinus@hesston.edu.
