Resident Director

Hesston College is seeking one male Resident Director (RD) who provides oversight for the operation of on-campus living spaces as they build relationships and guide students toward choices that will build a healthy and safe, Christ-centered and globally engaged campus community. This person reports to the Vice President of Student Life and collaborates with the female RD in offering training, counsel and assistance to the student leaders reporting to them: Assistant Resident Directors (ARDs) and Resident Assistants (RAs). Resident Directors support the mission, vision and values of Hesston College with high levels of professionalism.

The male and female RDs live in on-campus apartments and serve as a responsible contact for dorming students in times of emergency, including weekend on-call duties. RDs conduct disciplinary actions when students violate community standards. The RDs also serve in the community-building role of Campus Activities Coordinators, managing student activities workers in planning and implementing weekend student events.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, value their Christian faith, are committed to Christian higher education, are highly relational and emotionally mature, and able to demonstrate responsibility and organizational skills with excellent follow-through and effective communication. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to Christian higher education and the mission and values of Hesston College.
