Biology Professor

Hesston College seeks a full-time Biology Professor to teach courses in the natural sciences department starting in August 2024. The Biology Professor will teach Environmental Science, possibly alternating with Environmental Biology, Microbiology and Introductory Chemistry. Additional coursework and non-teaching duties will be assigned based on the individual strengths, preferences and the experience of the successful candidate.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Use a variety of classroom teaching technologies
  • Manage the laboratory, which is shared with other professors
  • Assist with biology curriculum and program development
  • Communicate effectively with students and staff
  • Maintain effective working relationships

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in environmental science or a related discipline
  • Commitment to student-centered instruction
  • Experience teaching post-secondary students
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ph.D. preferred
  • Experience working or teaching in an environmental science or biology discipline preferred
