Dyck Arboretum of the Plains Christmas season event - The Prairie Sleeps

Hesston, Kansas is a community of around 3,500 that is very closely tied to Hesston College. There is no shortage of pride here — pride in who we are and the lifestyle we have to offer.

Our students and faculty know how to have fun — whether it’s a $2 movie night in Newton (just a 10 minute drive) or a campus-wide chicken barbecue. Our definition of community isn’t limited to geography. It’s an attitude — one that’s in abundance across our campus and town.

While Hesston itself has plenty of things to keep you busy, students often make the short (30 minute) drive to Wichita, and even shorter (10 minute) drive to Newton for fun. Both of these cities complement Hesston very well, and offer an endless supply of attractions, concerts, museums, theaters, galleries, restaurants, sporting events, cultural events and seasonal festivals.
