Wengerd joins Hesston College Women’s Soccer 2013 recruiting class

Courtney Wengerd signs to play soccer for Hesston College.

Hesston College women’s soccer coach Bryan Kehr announced the addition of Courtney Wengerd, a defender/midfielder from Goshen (Ind.)High School, to the Larks roster.

A Scholar Athlete Award recipient the last two years, Wengerd was a key contributor to a Goshen High team that set school records for goals, assists and shutouts in 2012.

“Courtney comes from a successful high school soccer program,” Kehr said. “Coach Dan Graber’s team enjoyed an undefeated regular season and sectional championship in 2011, followed by a 13-4-1 mark this year. Courtney has been a stalwart member of a solid Goshen High defense.”

A National Honor Society member and High Honor Roll student, Wengerd will study communications at Hesston. She attends East Goshen Mennonite Church and is active in the youth group there.

Wengerd is the daughter of Sherry (Wells) ’80 and David ’81 Wenger, Goshen.
