Larks tie season wins mark with 3-1 win on sophomore night

On sophomore recognition night, The Hesston College women’s soccer team tied a school-record for wins with a 3-1 victory over McPherson (Kan.) College JV on Tuesday, Oct. 9, improving its season record to 7-8.

Sophomore Mariah Martin (Glenwood Springs, Colo.) put the Larks on the board just 11 minutes into the game following an assist by fellow sophomore Tori Wheeler (Wichita, Kan.). Freshman Tatianna Sabbah (Wichita, Kan.) and Kelli Christenson (Dayton, Ore.) also scored for Hesston.

Hesston outshot McPherson by a 16-9 mark and held a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Larks look to make program history on Sunday, Oct. 14, when they play Southwestern Adventist University (Keene, Texas) during Hesston’s fall break trip to Texas. Hesston plays three games in Texas, with the next win setting a new season wins mark for the program.
