Interview Tips

Find someone who is not in your circle of close family or friends to serve as a mock interviewer to help you practice for your Lark Leadership interview. Your mock interviewer should be someone who can help you practice giving clear and articulate answers.The following list of questions are similar to those you will be asked during your on-campus interview.

Sample questions

  • Hesston College is known for nurturing leaders. Do you view yourself as a leader? If so, how would you describe your leadership gifts?
  • Where do you see yourself in five years? In ten years?
  • What is your ideal career path? What specifically about that path interests you?
  • How has your high school experience prepared you for college?
  • What specific programs, experiences or assignments have you participated in that have set you up to be ready for college academics and the emotional transition of becoming more independent?
  • Is involvement important to you at the college level? If so, how do you hope to be involved academically, socially, spiritually, extracurricularly or otherwise in college?
  • How does Hesston College’s mission match up with your personal and academic goals?
