Where have all the pastors gone?

Where have all the pastors gone? A Weekend College event

Face to Face at Hesston College: March 25 to 26, 2022

Online Event: Date to be determined

The Itch:

Many congregations are looking for pastors. And not just any leader, but a good leader. But those pastors just aren’t there.

Where do pastors come from? And why do some pastors quit after only a few years?

In part one of this Weekend College, we will address…

  • The need for a culture change in your church.
  • The need for a conversion to a different definition of leadership.
  • What the Bible says about what it means to be the church.

In part two we will address:

  • How to identify potential leaders who are willing to grow in their discipleship in order to become leaders.
  • How to create opportunities to develop intentional discipleship that cultivates leadership skills.
  • How to make time for disciple making and leadership development in the life of the congregation.

The Scratch:

We’ll discuss strategies for how to create a culture of “call” and redefine what it means to be in ministry and what it means to be a leader.

We’ll talk about things like:

  • How words shape beliefs.
  • How to make a smooth transfer of leadership.
  • How to cultivate a culture of discipleship that nurtures leadership.
  • How to diagnose a conflictual situation.
  • How to help the people you work with accept their identity as disciple-makers.
  • Where to get more training on church leadership
