Leave for Europe! Fly to Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
15 May, Wednesday
Arrive at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam. Morning at Zaanse Schans, open air museum. Afternoon check in at Amsterdam Grand Hotel Downtown.
16 May, Thursday
Day in Amsterdam with tour of Anne Frank House, Singelkerk and canal boat tour. Rehearse for evening concert at Aalsmeer Doopsgezindekerk. Return to Amsterdam hotel.
17 May, Friday (Start of Pentecost weekend)
Visit the Rijksmuseum in the morning, then to Haarlem to visit Cathedral of St. Bavo. Evening concert at Haarlem Doopsgezindekerk. Return to Amsterdam hotel.
18 May, Saturday
Travel over the Afsluitdijk into province of Friesland. Visit Menno Simon monuments in Witmarsum and Pingjum. Then to Joure to join with Hesston College alumni in celebration of the 200th year of the church building in Joure and the 20th concert by a Hesston College choir. Several weekend concerts are planned at Joure Doopsgezindekerk and three overnight stays with Joure hosts.
19 May, Sunday (Pentecost Sunday)
Morning worship and afternoon concert at the church in Joure.
20 May, Monday
Final day in Joure to explore a fishing village and possibly take a walk on the beach.
21 May, Tuesday
Travel to Cologne, Germany. Visit Der Dom and the Basilica of the Holy Apostles. Arrive in Neuwied for overnight home stays.
22 May, Wednesday
Enjoy a Rhine River cruise. Evening concert at Mennoniten Gemeinde Neuwied. Overnight with hosts.
23 May, Thursday
Depart for Basel, Switzerland. Evening concert and home stays.
24 May, Friday
Travel into the Jura Mountains to village of Moron, Switzerland. Perform concert at the Mennonite church, followed by home stays.
25 May, Saturday
Langnau im Emmental is the destination: home of great cheese, chocolate and apple juice! Evening concert in the oldest continuous Mennonite church in the world, dating back to 1530, followed by home stays.
26 May, Sunday
Participate in morning worship service in Langnau. After lunch at the church, travel to Wengen, Switzerland, at the foot of the Jungfrau Mountain. Next two nights are at the historic Hotel Falken.
27 May, Monday
Enjoy a full day of hiking and relaxing in the mountain village of Wengen.
28 May, Tuesday
Take the train down the mountain to Lauterbrunnen and board the bus for Lucerne. Later in the afternoon, travel to Zurich, Switzerland, for an Anabaptist history tour of the city. Hotel lodging near the airport.
29 May, Wednesday
Travel to Ingolstadt, Germany, the home of the car manufacturer Audi. Visit the Dachau Concentration Camp and Munich enroute. Home stays in Ingolstadt.
30 May, Thursday
Perform a noon concert at Corpus Christi, a Baroque Chapel in Ingolstadt. Evening concert at Mennonitengemeinde Ingolstadt. Home stays.
31 May, Friday
Travel to Erfurt, Germany, and participate in an afternoon walking tour of the city. Hotel lodging.
1 June, Saturday
Travel to Bielefeld, Germany. Perform an evening concert at the Mennonitische Freikirche, Bielefeld. Home stays.
2 June, Sunday
Morning worship service at Bielefeld and afternoon activities with our hosts. Home stays.
3 June, Monday
Travel back to Amsterdam. Overnight hotel lodging near airport.
4 June, Tuesday
Fly back to U.S.
