Hesston College recognizes faculty members for high ratings by students

Hesston College recognized eight faculty members in August for outstanding instruction in spring 2010 classes based on the Individual Development and Educational Assessment (IDEA) survey. The survey shows student ratings regarding instruction and student learning that are based upon the professor’s teaching styles and classroom performance.

John Sharp of Hesston had the highest ranking class by this assessment with History of World Civilization II. Those that ranked above the 75th percentile based on summary and teaching methods in the IDEA survey include General Psychology taught by Kevin Wilder of Hesston, Interpersonal Communication taught by Kendra Burkey of Newton, Microeconomics taught by David LeVan of Newton, Nursing II taught by Jean Rodgers of Hesston and Sondra Leatherman of Hesston, and Nursing IV taught by Joyce Huber of Hesston and Rita Peters of Hesston. Advanced College Writing taught by Karen LeVan of Newton and ESL Advanced Reading and Vocabulary taught by Patty Meier also of Newton received honorable mentions.

Located 30 miles North of Wichita, Hesston College is the two-year liberal arts college of Mennonite Church USA.
