Brown to present concert in Portland, Ore., April 19

Oregon alumni and friends of Hesston College are invited to a special event with faculty member and professional baritone Anthony Brown. Sponsored by Portland Mennonite Church, the concert containing music and stories of peace, hope, and justice will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the church, located at 1312 SE 35th Avenue.

Brown will be accompanied by Ken Rodgers, music faculty member at Hesston College. Vice President of Alumni and Church Relations Dallas Stutzman will present an update on the college.

A free will offering will be taken for Hesston College.

Brown will also provide special music during the 10:30 a.m. morning worship service at Portland Mennonite Church.

Internationally-acclaimed baritone Anthony Brown is a promoter of peace and goodwill around the world and across the U.S., his music serving as a tool of healing and reconciliation. Brown has sung and spoken since the turn of the century in Bosnia, Northern Ireland, China, Moldova, the Ukraine, Russia, northern Uganda, South Korea, and Ethiopia.

Brown just returned from spending the fall semester in Japan on sabbatical. He taught at a university, related to Mennonite fellowships in Sapporo, and learned about the Japanese worldview.
