At Hesston College, we believe in rewarding your hard work and helping make college affordable. We offer a variety of scholarships and grants based on academic achievement, financial need, leadership, talents and unique qualifications. Whether you’re a first-year student or continuing your education, there’s financial support to help you thrive, both inside and outside the classroom.

Scholarships

Hesston College awards Presidents, Deans and Academic Achievement scholarships to U.S. students based on high school grade point average and standardized test scores.

Presidents Scholarship

$15,000 (on-campus students)

$10,000 (commuter students)

To renew the scholarship, Presidents Scholars must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA.

Deans Scholarship

$12,000 (on-campus students)

$8,000 (commuter students)

To renew the scholarship, Deans Scholars must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.

Lark Scholarship

$10,000 (on-campus students)

$6,000 (commuter students)

To renew the scholarship, Lark’s Scholars must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA.

Achievement Scholarship

$8,000 (on-campus students)

$4,000 (commuter students)

To renew the Academic Achievement Scholarship, students must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA.

Merit Scholarship

$6,000 (on-campus students)

$2,000 (commuter students)

Alumni Scholarship

$1,000

If one or both of your parents attended Hesston College, you are eligible for this scholarship.

Church Matching Scholarship

Up to $1,000

Hesston College will match, dollar for dollar, up to $1,000 provided by your home congregation. The college will match $1 for every $4 above $1,000 until your Hesston College scholarships, awards and grants and your church scholarship and match total is equal to tuition.

Endowed Scholarships

$200 to $3,000

A number of endowed scholarships are awarded to Hesston students with particular interests, qualifications or financial need. Find a list of Hesstons endowed scholarships in the online catalog.

Bible Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded by Bible faculty.

Music Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded by music faculty through an audition process.

Theatre Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded by theatre faculty through an audition process.

Robotics Team Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded by engineering faculty.

Kansas State Scholarship

$1,000

Students must be designated as a state scholar by the Kansas Board of Regents based on their GPA, ACT and curriculum completed. Students must be Kansas residents (one year), show financial need and be enrolled full time (12 hours). Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA while in college. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Kansas Board of Regents Financial Aid Application to apply for this scholarship.

Kansas Nursing Scholarship

$4,500

Kansas resident full-time nursing students must obtain a sponsoring hospital, nursing home or clinic. Students must complete the FAFSA and the Kansas Board of Regents Financial Aid Application to apply for this scholarship.

Athletic Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded by coaches.

Returning students receive the same offer as the previous year assuming they meet the criteria for the aid given. Criteria may include maintaining a certain GPA, maintaining enrollment intensity (course load) and housing status (on campus or commuting).

Grants

Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for these need-based grants. Apply at studentaid.ed.gov.

Hesston College Opportunity Grant

$500 to $5,000

Students must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA to renew this grant.

Kansas Comprehensive Grant

$3,000 to $3,500

Students must be Kansas residents (one year), show financial need and be enrolled full time (12 hours). Students must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA in college. Application deadline is April 1.

Federal Pell Grant

$672 to $7,395

The Federal Pell Grant is a need-based grant determined by your Expected Family Contribution. This amount is determined by filing the FAFSA.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

$200 to $2,000

The FSEOG is also a need-based grant and may be awarded to students who are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant. Schools have very limited funding for this grant so students are encouraged to apply early.
