Perhaps the most surprising aspects of the Hesston experience are the diverse backgrounds our students represent and our impressive number of international students. Around 15 percent of our student body is made up of international students, and more than half come from places other than Kansas. We have a very uncommon and healthy mix of people that contributes greatly to the quality of a Hesston education.

Climate
Summers in Kansas can get hot, but are usually dry and less humid. Winters are relatively short, with brief intervals of snow and intense cold.

A Home Away From Home
As an international student from Paraguay, Hadassa Friesen ’24 felt she belonged at Hesston College soon after stepping on campus. “I chose Hesston College because it is committed to help international students to start in a new environment,” says Hadassa. She quickly became immersed in the Hesston Experience as a theatre scholar, also joining Bel Canto Singers and the dance team. “I really enjoy the campus community. I like how welcoming and accepting everyone is.” Friesen also recognizes the close-knit community on campus from her classmates to her professors. “The size of the college also is really helpful for an international student to get comfortable in a new environment,” she explains. “Hesston is ready to offer any help that may be needed for all sorts of students, be they international or domestic students. The college offers a good start into the university world and prepares students for their next stop in their career journey.”
