International Student Support Coordinator

The coordinator plays a pivotal role in international student support. They collaborate with various college departments to plan and execute new international student orientation, providing essential services such as financial education, banking assistance, social security and driver’s license acquisition and medical care support. The coordinator also chairs the international student support team, ensuring regular meetings and student follow-up. They monitor academic alerts and work with faculty and staff to develop intervention plans, all while promoting the college’s Christ-centered mission of nurturing students for service to others. Being effective in this position takes lots of compassion, energy, organization and skill.

The International Student Support Coordinator serves as the primary Designated School Official (DSO) responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with immigration policies for international students. This includes filing for recertification, managing I-17 updates and gaining approval for new programs. Additionally, this role involves guiding students through visa processes, Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Our goal is to find someone with a master’s or bachelor’s degree and at least one to three years of professional work experience. A background in working with international students in an education or social services setting is preferred, along with experience with language learners or ability to speak more than one language.
