Hesston College seeks applicants for a full-time Grounds Specialist position. As Grounds Specialist you will be responsible for the care and maintenance of our campus grounds (including the college campus, athletic fields and outbuildings, shrubbery, landscaping and floral plantings by performing the various duties personally or through assistants). This position also performs other general grounds tasks such as coordinating the campus turf management program including seeding, mowing, landscaping, fertilizing and weed control, and assisting other maintenance personnel as needed. Campus snow removal and mitigation is also performed by this role.
To be successful in this position, you will need to have initiative, be self-motivated, have attention to detail, thrive on performing a broad range of tasks along with a willingness to perform a variety of assigned tasks. Our goal is to find someone with a high school diploma or higher, with work experience in grounds care and maintenance. Supervisory skills and basic irrigation knowledge is a plus and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn a must.
