Facilities Specialist

Hesston College seeks applicants for a full-time Facilities Specialist position. As Facilities Specialist you will be responsible for two main areas: fleet vehicle maintenance and facility maintenance. As mechanic you will care for and maintain our campus facilities fleet of vehicles including ongoing regular maintenance, arranging for major repairs when needed, as well as tending to other campus vehicles such as golf carts, pickups and ATV’s. You will also be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of our campus laundry facilities, office furniture and equipment (installation, moving, repairing and maintenance with assistance from other team members). This position also performs other general maintenance tasks such as light plumbing and assisting other maintenance personnel as needed.

To be successful in this position, you will need to have initiative, be self-motivated, have attention to detail, thrive on performing a broad range of tasks along with a willingness to perform a variety of assigned tasks. Our goal is to find someone with a high school diploma or higher, with relevant work experience and skills as a vehicle mechanic, with metal fabrication and light welding a plus. Supervisory skills and basic electrical knowledge is a plus and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn a must.
