Hesston College seeks a Dining Services Assistant/Cook to serve as a member of the Dining Services team. This position will average 35 hours per week during the school year. Schedule varies weekly, but includes day shifts, evening shifts and some weekend shifts. Responsibilities will include preparing menu items from recipes, fruit and vegetable preparation, and using kitchen equipment. Competencies include expertise in providing quality food and service in a college/university setting, communication, interpersonal and intercultural relations, decision making and strategic thinking.
A successful candidate will be a leader who is passionate and knowledgeable about serving quality food in quantity, creates a positive work environment and is engaging, creative and enjoys working on a team.
Why join our team? Dining Services is a self-operated (non-contract) department serving about 400 meals per day to college students, employees and guests. We have one dining center on campus and oversee an additional dining area that operates as a late-night snack shop for dorming students. Dining Services is under the Student Life Department in order to enhance the Hesston Experience on campus for students from across the world.
