Hesston College softball went 2-0 at North Arkansas College on Saturday. Friday’s doubleheader at Cottey College was not played due to poor weather but this did not stop the Larks on Saturday beating the Pioneers 15-3 and 13-2.
The Larks got the bats started right away scoring 1, 3 and 3 in the first three innings. Scoring 15 on 16 hits, the Larks really put together an offensive showcase. Sierrah Long went 4-4, scoring three times and driving in one run. Adding RBIs were Jenna Schneider (3), Josie Noll (2), Reese McCrary, Taylor Martin, Lexi Avalos, Sam Amarante and Ashley Yasin. Yasin was on the mound registering nine strikeouts and giving up five hits.
Game two in Arkansas was more of the same. The Larks scored four in the second, two in the third and seven in the fourth, putting the game out of reach quickly. Lexi Avalos and Adrianna Ruiz both went 3 for 3 with Ruiz scoring three times while driving in two. Sierra Long had another great offensive game scoring three times, stealing three bases as well as driving in two. Kaylen Lassley was on the mound for the win giving up five hits in five innings pitched.
