Larks defeat Southeast CC, move to 3-2

The women’s basketball team started hot leading 7-0 after 2:33 in the first quarter. They then rode a huge 32-point output in the fourth quarter to beat the Storm of Southeast (Neb.) Community College 83-58. The first half was a back and forth affair with both teams having spurts and swings to move the momentum in their direction. The Storm put together an 8-0 run and give this Larks something to think about only up 33-31 at home to end the half.

The third quarter started with the Larks on the front foot and saw them end the quarter up 10, 51-41. They the Lark offense exploded with 70.6% shooting from the field including hitting 4 of 6 threes in the fourth quarter. Seven different Larks found the hoop as Hesston College scored 32 in the quarter to complete off the victory.

Essence Tolson had another great game recording a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards. Carissa Slabach added 10 points and Hunter Begley, 9. The benched produce 38 points for the Larks. Whitney Green had nine and Morgan Sterner and KaDrea Hulett each contributed eight.

Hesston College will be at home on Wednesday, November 15 at 6 p.m. against Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley. They will be at home again on Monday, November 20 against Southwestern College JV at 6 p.m.
