The Larks men’s basketball team got their second consecutive win on the road Tuesday, defeating Rhema Bible College 116-93 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Head Coach Dustin Gaylon was delighted with his team’s preparation. “I thought our guys did a great job of being the more focused team for 40 minutes.” He was also pleased with the execution of the game plan. “It was all about defense and rebounding,” said Galyon. “Our depth was a big difference in the outcome of the game.”
Rhema is a well-coached team and the Larks focus on shutting down their two best players and ultimately they got the reward with the win.
All of the starters did their part on the offensive side of the ball, combining for 81 of Hesston’s points. Coye Campbell led the way with 26, followed by Zac Neeley (23), Aubrey Johnson (18), David Ladwig (8) and Grand Harding (6). Off the bench both Shannon Cordes (12) and Cal Hartley (19) had big offensive nights. The team gathered 44 rebounds with Johnson leading the way with 11 and securing his double-double.
Next up for Hesston College is Louisiana Christian School at home on Thursday, tipoff at 8 p.m. Then they will host Sterling College JV on Monday, December 4, at 8 p.m.
