The Hesston College volleyball team will host Highland (Kan.) Community College for a 6:30 p.m. match on Wed., Oct. 19. The Power of Pink match will be in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. All proceeds from the gate admission will be contributed to the Susan B. Komen Foundation.

The Power of Pink event will include other special activities in addition to the volleyball match. The Larks, sitting on a record of 10-10, will wear pink jerseys and toss pink balls to the crowd in support of breast cancer awareness. The first 100 students to arrive will receive a free commemorative t-shirt and nametags will be available at the door for attendees to write down the names of loved ones impacted by breast cancer.

“Breast cancer affects so many lives,” said Hesston head volleyball coach DeeDee Landes. “Many of the women on the team have been touched by breast cancer in one way or another. It feels good to be able to do the little things like this that help contribute to a great cause. I am really excited to have this game and be able to make a difference in this way.”
