Greyhounds knock off Larks

The Hesston College volleyball team fell to the visiting Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds in three sets – 14-25, 11-25, 18-25 – on Wednesday evening at the Yost Center.

Fort Scott raced out to early leads in each frame, forcing the Larks to play from behind, unable to rally. Sophomore, Erin Brubaker (Goessel, Kan.) led the attacking effort for the Larks with five kills. Sophomore Emily McMichael (Fort Worth, Texas) and sophomore Jesseana Nebel (Hesston, Kan.) each chipped in with 10 digs on the defensive side. With the loss the Larks fall to 10-11.

The team will head west to Colorado for a weekend tri in La Junta. On Saturday October 15, Otero Junior College will host the Larks at 10 a.m. before Hesston takes on the Adams State Grizzlies JV squad from Alamosa, Colo., an NCAA Div. II school.
