Women’s soccer falls to Trailblazers

The Hesston College women’s soccer team dropped a close 1-0 game to Metropolitan CC-Blue River (Independence, Mo.) on Saturday afternoon in Hesston, giving the Larks their first loss of the season (4-1).

The match was forced to be shifted to the Larks practice field, due to unplayable field conditions on the game field. Playing on a smaller field provided a different element for both sides.

The Trailblazers scored the lone goal of the match at the 87 minute mark. The Larks set up a couple of opportunities to tie the match but weren’t able to score against the stiff and physical MCC-Blue River defense.

Hesston College women’s soccer will look to get back on track when they travel to Pratt on Tuesday to face Pratt CC. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
