Men’s basketball adds Iowa Mennonite School grad to 2014-15 roster

Peyton Thompson

Hesston College men’s basketball coach Dustin Galyon announces Peyton Thompson, a 6’1” guard from Iowa Mennonite School, Kalona, as the latest addition to the Larks program.

A two-time first-team all-conference player at IMS, Thompson was voted team MVP following his senior season in which he averaged 19.5 points and 5.2 assists per game.

An academic all-conference player, Thompson will study computer science at Hesston. He attends Kalona Mennonite Church and is involved in the youth group there.

“Payton is a winner who has played for one of the best high school coaches in the country,” Galyon said. “He understands basketball and will extend the defense with his perimeter shooting.”

Thompson is the son of Todd and Sherri Thompson, Kalona.
