The Hesston College baseball team beat #8 Hutchinson (Kan.) CC 4-1 on Wednesday, April 9, splitting the season series with the Blue Dragons. A three-run bottom of the sixth, tremendous pitching and an error-free night gave the Larks the win. Since the 2013 season, Hesston Baseball has logged a 3-2 record against the local junior college power.

Josh Hibbard (Munford, Tenn.) threw seven solid innings, yielding just five hits and one earned run to get the win. The freshman righty walked one and struck out six. Dustin King (Wichita, Kan.) fanned two in a scoreless eighth before Larks ace Mangin Chacon (Harlingen, Texas) came out of the pen for the save.

Scott Cooper (Sand Springs, Okla.), Nick Yoder (Millersburg, Ohio) and Corey Fowler (Boone, Iowa) each had two hits.

Now 17-14 on the year, Hesston travels to Brown Mackie College (Salina, Kan.) for a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday, April 12.
