The Hesston College men’s basketball team lost a thrilling 62-53 game against Barton CC (Great Bend, Kan.) on Wednesday, Nov. 14, dropping its season record to 0-5.
Darrion Martin (Houston) led the Hesston offense with 17 points. Beau Palmer (Oklahoma City) added 14 and pulled down a team-high six rebounds. Ryan Schilling (Fort Worth, Texas) and Lawrence Ammons (Austin, Texas) added eight points each.
Hesston trailed 27-26 at the break and trailed by only two with three minutes to play. The visiting Cougars proved to be too much in the end, however, pulling away late for a nine point win.
Hesston seeks its first win of the year when the Larks host Cowley College (Arkansas City, Kan.) for a 7 p.m. tip on Friday, Nov. 15.
