Hesston drops Goshen JV, 2-1

The Hesston College women’s soccer team earned a 2-1 win over Goshen (Ind.) College JV during its fall break trip to Ohio and Indiana. The Larks are now 5-10-2 on the year.

Goshen JV took a 1-0 lead to halftime, but a pair of second-half Hesston goals gave the Larks the win. In the 75th minute, freshman Dusti Diener (Harrisonville, Mo.) scored the equalizer on an assist from Jessica Donnelly (Greshman, Ore.). Less than ten minutes later, Kambree Carter (Simonton, Colo.) put the Larks in front with an unassisted goal.

Hesston outshot Goshen JV 12-8 on the day, while the Maple Leafs held a 3-2 edge in corner kicks. Hesston keeper Skylar Tripp (Craig, Colo.) stopped seven shots in goal.

Hesston travels to Goodland, Kan., for a 5 p.m. (MST) matchup with Northwest Kansas Technical College on Thursday, Oct. 17. A win equals a Region VI playoff berth for the Larks.
