Cross Country listed in recent national poll

The Hesston College men’s cross country team is off to another fast start in 2013. The Larks, ranked 14th in preseason national polls, received votes in the latest (Sept. 12) poll.

Hesston’s most recent competition, Sept. 14 at Hutchinson (Kan.) CC, saw the Larks place seventh among 11 schools, including NCAA Division II power Fort Hays (Kan.) State University. Hesston finished 3rd out of the six two-year schools that participated.

94 total runners competed in the 8K, with Josh Landis (Sterling, Ill.) finishing 24th after posting a time of 28:55.3. Ryan Dungan (Wichita, Kan.) cracked the top-50, placing 42nd with a time of 30:04.7.

The Larks’ next competition is slated for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Harvey County East Park, hosted by Tabor College (Hillsboro).
