Late goal preserves tie for Hesston women

The Hesston College women’s soccer team gutted out a 1-1 tie versus Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College after playing through two overtime periods on Wednesday night, Sept. 8, to improve their record to 1-3-1 through five matches.

Kelsey Schrock (Wellman, Iowa) tied things up with a late goal in regulation off an assist from Colby Troyer (Waterford, Pa.) that proved to be the final score. The match was far from over, however, as the two teams braved wet conditions throughout the afternoon.

Freshman keeper Amber Mayer (Wichita, Kan.) was solid in the net for the Larks, stopping nine shots to keep the host Red Ravens at bay.
