Coach Sharp's Comments
The team's new attitude has already shown itself on the field in better play but not yet in the win column. Although Hesston lost and still only managed six shots on goal, the passing and overall team play greatly improved. Hesston managed several good attacks in the first half but came up empty. With less than 10 minutes left Hesston was whistled for a handball in the penalty area. DC capitalized on the penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead going into the half.
In the second half DC padded their lead when Remley put home a rebound from a failed clearance on a corner kick. Hesston did not give up and their efforts were finally rewarded when DC committed a foul in the box to give the Larks a penalty kick of their own. Daly converted the pk but Hesston was unable to capture the equalizer. Poor officiating on both sides of the ball was the story of this game. The disappointing loss was compounded by the ejection of Andrade in the middle of the second half. Andrade will be unable to play Saturday's homecoming game against Rhema Bible College at 1 p.m.
