Coach Nussbaum's Comments
The Larks took to the road for the first time and found themselves staring down a wind tunnel in the first half at Bethany College. With winds gusting from 20-30 miles an hour, Hesston was pinned back for most of the half in their own end. Bethany took full advantage of the wind aided offense and plugged away at the Lark goal as Hignight did his best to steer away the onslaught.
Oscar Mendoza and Pietro Ramelli provided a few nervous moments for the Bethany defense as they led the offense into the teeth of the wind in the first half nearly scoring on one exchange. The roles reversed in the second half as HC now enjoyed nature's support. Unfortunately the Lark offense failed to take advantage of the increased action in the offensive end and produced only one shot on goal. The Bethany College Swedes were limited to just one shot on goal in the second half as Hesston increased the pressure on the opposite end of the field.
Hesston once again survived the game with no cautions or ejections but head into next Tuesday's match with Johnson County battered and bruised. The Larks record now stands at 1-6-0.
