Coach Sharp's Comments
Cloud County dominated the first half but only carried a 1-0 lead until five minutes left in the first half. Two defensive miscues led directly to two more goals for Cloud.
The second half found the Larks playing much better and more aggressive. HC withheld several shots from CC. Finally, with less than eight minutes left in the game, Soboro sent a perfect lead pass to Daly who was able to beat one defender and blast a left footed shot past a diving (Jamie) Brecheisen.
Although we lost the game, the first goal of the season was enough to lift the spirits and morale of the young Hesston squad. It gave us something to build on. CC dominated the game on the whole but without those defensive miscues HC could have come away with a tie or at least a closer result.
