Even though there were less sticky
notes received for "What We Do Best" than for "What Matters Most?" there
were several comments on each sticky note resulting in more comments in total.
All the comments are connected to
these topics, suggesting employees of the college have somewhat similar
understandings as to what we do best at the institution. It is possible to place a
few of the notes in different categories but they seemed to group under these
themes. The detailed notes are available so the reader can get a sense of the topics
in the groupings and the meaning of them and so that it is possible to reorganize
them in other ways by someone else. The themes are more important than the
ranking in that there is a smaller percentage difference between the themes.
The theme Personal Caring and
Attention was mentioned most often with 27% of the notes in this area.
Employee dedication to the mission was mentioned in 22% of the notes.
Academic Excellence was mentioned in 20% of the notes. The theme, Creates
the Environment for Growth and Change (17% of notes) sets the stage for
academic excellence. The college clearly is connected to the Larger Mennonite
Church (14% of notes) in many ways as shown by the comments.
The notes and comments reflect on "What we do Best" at Hesston College. Personal Caring and Attention to students was mentioned most often with Employee dedication to the mission second. Academic Excellence, supported by an environment for growth and change, is something that HC sees itself doing well. Connecting to the Larger Mennonite Church is also seen as something we do well at the college.
