Jayme Hays, Clearwater, Kan., has signed a letter of intent to play softball and study at Hesston College beginning this fall.
Hays, who was home schooled, played two years of varsity softball and one year of varsity basketball with the Wichita Warriors (known formally as the Wichita Area Homeschool Athletic Association). She compiled a two-year ERA of 2.058 and a batting average of .547.
She plans on a pre-medicine course of study at Hesston College.
Hesston College softball coach Alaina Kaufman says Hays will be an asset for the Larks on the mound. “I'm looking forward to seeing all Jayme can do and having her be a part of Hesston College.”
Hays is the daughter of Eric and Kim Hays, Clearwater.
The Larks softball team competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association, Division II. Hesston College is a two-year liberal arts college owned by Mennonite Church USA.
