Chris Frantz is set to enter his first year of coaching for Hesston College. Hired to head the newly created golf program, Frantz brings an experienced past of coaching and a desire for success to his new position. In addition to his coaching and playing plaudits, Frantz brings a Mennonite Brethren background to the school, providing him with a high level of familiarity with the faith community on campus.
Frantz played four years of collegiate golf for Tabor College (Hillsboro, Kan.), during which he progressed from beginner to expert, cutting his average score by 30%. Since college he has continued to play and progress on the course, often being consulted as a mentor and expert by his peers.
Frantz joins the Hesston faculty after leaving his previous coaching position at Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita. In addition to coaching, Frantz taught physical education classes and recruited athletes from the student body during his time at Sunrise. Frantz has helped grow his school’s program from fledgling to full bodied, even starting a middle school team to accommodate the number of interested players.
