Aside from his success on the hardwood, Mitchem was tabbed a Superintendent Scholar his freshman year, and was named to the National Honor Society as a junior.
“Tyler is a natural leader who really understands what it takes to compete night after night,” commented Galyon. “He is a physical guard and I love the way he competes. Tyler has a big heart and he has the ability to be a great floor leader at our level. His defensive effort is second to none and I think he’ll become an even stronger offensive player here. We’re very excited to have him join our program.”
