Student pilot earns private pilot certificate

Adam Heisey, a freshman in Hesston College’s aviation program, earned his private pilot license Feb. 26.

The Hesston College Aviation Department announces that Adam Heisey of Elizabethtown, Pa., is the latest student pilot to earn his private pilot license on Feb. 26.

Heisey is a freshman in Hesston’s aviation program. He is the son of Duane and Darlene Heisey of Elizabethtown. With his latest accomplishment, Heisey will begin work on the instrument rating.

Hesston College offers flight training and air traffic control programs. Flight training holds FAA certification in single-engine land Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot and Instrument Rating courses, as well as fixed-wing private pilot through airline transport pilot certifications. The air traffic control program is one of 36 Collegiate Training Initiative programs in the country, and the only one in Kansas to gain FAA approval.
