Joel Bishop Kempf lives in Pipersville, Pa., with his wife Jenny, their daughter, Nadia, and son, Luke. He enjoys camping, music, trips to the zoo with his family and coaching his daughter’s soccer team. Joel is working towards his M.A. in international development at Eastern University (St. David’s, Pa.) and works part time as a landscape maintenance specialist. Joel and Jenny spent five and a half years working in Mozambique in southern Africa in various capacities. Joel was involved in food security and water projects, including sand dam construction and conservation agriculture, as well as program development with local partners.
A Colombian alternative rock band formed by brothers Daniel (Hesston College ’08) and Juan Moya, with influences of Latin rhythms, blues and classic rock.
Kathy Keener Shantz
Kathy Keener Shantz is a board-certified music therapist since 2014, and is employed by Hershey Medical Center and Masonic Village Health Care Center. Before that, she was a pastor for 28 years in two congregations in Arizona and Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Hesston College, Goshen College, Fuller Theological Seminary and Immaculata University. Together with Stan, they are parents of two daughters, Kristi, 18 and Kayleena, 15.
Stan Shantz has been the lead pastor at James Street Mennonite Church in Lancaster, Pa., for the past 13 years. He has also served congregations in Glendale, Ariz., and Leo, Ind. Stan is a graduate of the University of Waterloo, Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries and Fuller Theological Seminary.
