Educational Background

Hesston College
B.S., management, Wichita State University

In Addition …

My background
I grew up in Hesston and graduated from Hesston High School.

Why I chose Hesston
At first I chose Hesston because I had many friends attending and my parents both worked at Hesston College. After one year I transferred to Kansas State. After one semester at Kansas State I knew it wasn't the place where I wanted to finish my undergraduate course work. I returned to HC for another year because I missed the community and new friends that I had experienced and made my first year. Another year at Hesston gave me a chance to figure out what I wanted to do for my bachelor's degree.

My favorite Hesston memory
My favorite Hesston College memory is probably from the last weekend of my freshman year. My mod mates and I made about 200 water balloons and started a water fight with most of Kauffman Court. By the end of it people all over campus were getting hit. We kept making more balloons and trying to rig up different ways to soak people. It was a great way to end the year.

After Hesston
After my second year at Hesston, I transferred to Wichita State where I earned my bachelor's degree in management.

How Hesston is the same as when I attended
Something I've always noticed about Hesston is that people are always friendly on campus. Everyone says "Hi" or tries to strike up a conversation with someone new.

How Hesston is better than when I attended
One thing I believe has improved at Hesston since I attended is the facilities. They were great when I was on campus but, with the renovation of Erb Hall this summer and the Friesen Center being built, there are few areas of campus that feel old. The campus looks great and it's because a lot of people take pride in what they do at Hesston.
