Licenses and Ratings Offered
Private Pilot License*
Hesston College Aviation uses a curriculum that includes a minimum of 47.5 hours of total aircraft time. Within that 47.5 hours, you will be with an instructor 30 hours and solo 17.5 hours. You will obtain approximately 33 hours of ground instruction.
 
Instrument Rating*
Hesston College Aviation uses a curriculum that includes a minimum of 25.5 hours in an aircraft and 17.5 hours in an approved ground trainer. Within those hours, 40.5 hours will be with an instructor and 2.5 hours will be solo.
 
Commercial License*
Hesston College Aviation uses a curriculum that includes a minimum of 127 hours in an aircraft and a Flight Training Device. Within those hours, 59.5 hours are with an instructor and 67.5 hours are flown solo.
 
Multi-Engine Rating
Federal Aviation Regulations do not have a total hours requirement for this course. The hours listed reflect the minimum time needed to develop the skills required by the Practical Test Standards. The course is designed to allow a person to add a multi-engine rating to a private or commercial license with an instrument rating.

Mountain Flying Course
Hesston College Aviation designed this course to develop the person's piloting skills in mountainous terrain. During this course the student spends two days flying the Colorado Rockies west of Colorado Springs or in New Mexico. The only prerequisite for this course is a complex sign off because the aircraft used is a Cessna 172RG.
 
Airline Training Orientation Program (ATOP)
Introduction to the Boeing 737/300. During this program conducted by ATOP, Inc., the student will receive: 10 hours of Systems and Flight Procedures Ground School, 2 hours of Cockpit Procedures Training, 1 hour of Simulator Flight Observation, 1 hour of Simulator Flight "High Altitude" Operations Training and Endorsement H.

*Hesston College Aviation offers the Private Pilot course, Commercial Pilot course, and the Instrument Rating through FAR Part 141.
