I Go on Singing – Paul Robeson tribute

You are invited to these unique and engaging Hesston College events the weekend of Feb. 9 to 10 in the Harrisonburg area. Faculty members Anthony Brown and Ken Rodgers, along with advancement staff Yvonne Sieber, Scott Sundberg and Dallas Stutzman will attend. It’s a great opportunity to connect with the college and enjoy some outstanding programming.

We hope to see you at one of these events:

  • Artist-in-Residence and professional baritone Anthony Brown ’69 and collaborative pianist Ken Rodgers ’85 will present I Go On Singing, an original, acclaimed song-filled, multi-media tribute to Paul Robeson, an all-American athlete and scholar, champion orator, international recording artist and star of the stage and screen during the 1930s. This event is sponsored by Eastern Mennonite University and will be held at Lehman Auditorium for a donation at the door and at no cost for those with an EMU ID. 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9.
  • Abby Erb ’09 will host a 2 to 3:30 p.m. young alumni reception at Common Grounds in the University Commons on the EMU campus on Sunday, Feb. 10. Young alumni (We’ll let you decide if you fit the description!) can order complimentary refreshments and desserts at the counter, visit with Hesston reps and hear the latest college update. More information is available at Facebook.com/hesston. Drop us a response on the Facebook event page or call 866-437-7866 to RSVP.
  • Brown and Rodgers will share special music at Park View Mennonite Church, 1600 College Ave., at the 9:30 a.m. Feb. 10 worship service. They will also present Songs and Stories of Peace, Hope and Justice at Eastern Mennonite High School chapel at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 11.
