Success Stories - Jenna

My
two years at Hesston were awesome. In fact, to this day, I still smile
and am flooded with many memories at the mention of Hesston College.
I made the decision to attend Hesston after visiting during a Thanksgiving
Weekend, which assured me that Hesston College was the place for me.
The education classes that Hesston provided during
my freshman and sophomore years helped to confirm that I was called
to be a teacher. From the beginning, I was able to experience education
within a classroom through observation and field placements. I value
the overall education that I received at Hesston and realize that I
do so because of the professors who went above and beyond their duties
for me. All of my professors made it clear that they were not only there
for me academically, but spiritually and personally as well.
Finding ways to be social at Hesston was not hard
for me. Being part of a mod was so much fun. I loved getting to know
the girls in my mod and we did so by stopping by each others rooms,
and staying for hours, and having late night chats in the bathroom.
My freshman year, I played softball and loved the opportunity to be
a member of a team. The best memories from softball were made on our
trip to Nationals in Maryland.
Now I can hardly believe it has been four years since
I was a Hesston student. I graduated from Goshen College with my degree
in elementary education in May 2003. In January of this year, I was
hired as a Title One reading teacher in Frankton, Ind. (central Indiana),
and I am loving my new job.
Jenna Roth is a 2001 graduate of Hesston College.
