What drew you to Hesston College?
When I first checked out Hesston, it was love at first sight. The people were very friendly and the professors I met were great. Hesston has a fun and relational environment that is perfect for almost anybody.

What attracts you to Communication?
I have always loved radio and thinking that someday people might listen to me on the radio is exciting.

How challenging are the academics in the Communication program?
The academics are not easy, but they are far from being hard. The professors challenge you to do the best you can.

What is your favorite Communication course? Why is it your favorite?
I would have to say that my favorite communication course is Interpersonal communications. It helped me understand the basics of how we communicate.

Did you find opportunities for learning experiences outside the classroom?
I was able to participate in forensics competitions all over the United States which was challenging, fun, and an experience I'll never forget. Also this summer I am going to try to get an internship at a radio station to help me understand more of what I could be doing in the future.

What are the professors like in the department?
Denice Bruce is an amazing professor. She expects you to do your best on everything you do, which helps in making you better.

What are some of your most memorable moments as a student at Hesston?
One of the most memorable moments for me here at Hesston was a late night Newell's run. Just doing random things is the best part.

What are your plans for after Hesston?
I am hoping to attend Goshen College to finish my communication degree. After that I want to take a year off to do voluntary service and maybe one day I will have my own radio show.
