Computers systems technology builds on foundations of computer science and applies these concepts to today’s business environment. Students take classes in operating systems, computer hardware, programming and networking, communications, humanities, social sciences and business.

In the program you will learn how to design and implement software and hardware; and install, configure and administer popular network operating systems and become familiar with the communication protocols to successfully implement and integrate networks in real life situations.

The associate of science degree is especially designed to fulfill the primary sequence of courses required for subsequent upper-level engineering programs of study.

What courses will I take at Hesston College?

When studying computer systems technology, you will take several computer science courses and a number of science and math classes that provide the basics to transfer. Also included is one semester of College Physics and one semester of Calculus.

In addition, you will take general education classes which are needed for transferring into the computer systems technology program and the AS degree.
