I believe in God almighty
creator and redeemer of the universe.
I believe in Jesus Christ
God’s historic son, our Lord
conceived by the Holy Spirit
born of the Virgin Mary
empowered by the Holy Spirit as servant king.
He challenged the powers
by establishing the kingdom and the church
by preaching, teaching and healing.
The powers killed him through religious and political leaders.
The powers were exposed to be not all good.
He forgave those who killed him.
He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven.
The powers were exposed to be not all powerful.
Jesus Christ is head of the church and rules the world.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit
the world-wide Body of Christ
the radical new creation
the believers’ Church
the Christian life as discipleship
the way of the cross
the kingdom now and coming
the glorious resurrection
and the life everlasting.
