Objectives

The successful student should as a:

  • Nurse, able to understand basic anatomical and physiological body functions.
  • Physical education major, able to plan and carry out a program in physical education and recreation based on a sound understanding of the human body.
  • Medical technologist, able to plan and carry out laboratory procedures.

The non-science major will be able to:

  • Demonstrate practical knowledge of basic scientific facts and principles underlying normal body structure and function.
  • Demonstrate skills in observation, manual manipulation, and solving problems of a basic nature in the laboratory.
  • Identify and describe the interrelationships and delicate balance of the various systems in the human body.
  • Obtain an appreciation of the beauty and workings of natural laws.

Attendance

Class attendance is essential to success in the course. The student is responsible to obtain all assignments, handouts, and announcements which are made during the class period. Attendance is required for all exams. Special permission must be obtained for any exceptions. Exceptions to required attendance will be made for campus-sponsored activities, illness verified by a note from a physician or nurse, death in the family.

NOTE: THIS COURSE IS EXTREMELY TIME CONSUMING!!!
