Howard Glanton joined the music faculty of Hesston College in 2003 as adjunct instructor of private guitar. He also teaches students at Bethel College (North Newton, Kan.) where he has been on the faculty since 1996, and maintains a private teaching studio in Derby, Kan. Howard graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 1990 and received his M.M. degree in guitar performance from Texas Tech University in 1994. Prior to his current teaching responsibilities, Howard taught at Texas Tech and Eastern New Mexico University.
Howard has competed in numerous international guitar competitions and is a member of the Piu Mosso Guitar Duo which has toured throughout the Midwest and has recorded two albums. He was selected as one of six guitarists to record the duets of classical composer Fernando Sor in Paris, France. He has performed with the Hutchinson and Newton symphony orchestras and accompanied L. Pavarotti as a member of the Wichita Grand Opera Orchestra.
Howard resides in Wichita where he is active in children and youth ministries, as well as in praise and worship at Westlink Christian Church. He frequently performs sacred music at area churches.
